Zongoene Lodge - Xai Xai Accommodation
Zongoene Lodge, Xai Xai, Mozambique
Zongoene Lodge is situated approximately 192 km from Maputo just south of
Xai Xai, this unique lodge is built on the edge of the Limpopo River at the estuary where it flows into the Indian Ocean. Sand dunes stretch in both directions along the coast and the flood plains of the river extend behind the lodge to the main road. A 4x4 is recomended to get to the lodge.
Zongoene lodge accommodation -
Bed and Breakfast Chalets are tastefully furnished and have en-suite bathrooms and sliding doors leading onto extended balconies. The pool chalets surround a large swimming pool whilst the family chalets are set back in lush indigenous gardens. The whole complex is electrified and all chalets and public areas have overhead fans. All windows and sliding doors also have mosquito netting for the protection. The pool chalets now have air conditioning.
Self Catering Chalets -
Family unit (2 adults + 2 children) The Main room has 2 x single beds and the smaller loft room also has 2 single beds. The unit has an en-suite bathroom. There is a Kitchenette / dinning area on veranda. Braai area. Swimming pool at main Lodge.
Casa Madeira is a Wooden House that sleeps 4 adults + 2 children and has 2 bedrooms - 1 x Double bed & 2 x Single beds + 1 x sleeper couch in open plan lounge / dining room. This unit has mosquito nets and ceiling fans. Bathroom, kitchen/ lounge/ dining area and a balcony. Rooms fully equipped with the exception of towels and amenities. There is a Braai area and the Swimming pool at main Lodge.
Casarão (4 adults + 2 kids - “Big House”) consists of two en-suite bedrooms, with twin rooms (single beds) and 2 x bunk beds in lounge area for children. A lounge / kitchen / dining area and an extended covered balcony with a Braai area and the swimming pool is at Main Lodge.
The Dunes Camp (14pax) - consists of 5 rustic chalets sleeping 14 in total.
There are 3 Twin Chalets (2 people in each) and 2 x Family Chalets that sleep 4 people in each on single beds. The Dune Camp is self-catering and also has a dining area, braai and kitchen, swimming pool and is fully equipped. There is a butler to help with food preparation etc.
Camping in addition the lodge has camping facilities that consist of 16 secluded sites of varying sizes and two ablution blocks with hot and cold water, showers and toilets. Every site also has an electrical point for fridges and deep freezers, using standard SA fittings.
