Guinjata Resort started in 1997 with a few reed Baracas and chalets and over the years has transformed into one of the top resorts in Mozambique.

Guinjata Resort is approximately 550km north of Maputo and 25km south of Inhambane on the coast (GPS : 24 04' 402' South, 035 29' 726' East). The road leading to the resort is a dirt road and only accessible with a 2x4 with difflock or 4x4 vehicle. Transfers from Inhambane can be arranged for people with Sedan vehicles, busses, kombi's etc. A 25km transfer from the airport to Guinjata will take you through the heart of the coconut plantations.

Guinjata Bay Resort Accommodation - offers the holidaymaker superb upper class accommodation in 2 to 8 bedroom chalets. For larger groups or families, the 8 bedroom chalet can accommodate up to 17 people.

Campsites are also available; tents can be set up under a baraca in well-shaded tropical surroundings. With fly in packages available direct from Jhb to Inhambane, it could not be easier getting to this family paradise. Dinner, bed and breakfast as well as simple overnight accommodation is also on offer.

Facilities: The Sports bar has a satellite TV for sports enthusiasts who don't want to miss their favourite sporting events. The Beach Bar & Restaurant has sit down or take-away menu and operates all year round. Scrumptious pizzas, full English breakfast and other daytime meals are available. Guinjata Resorts A-La-Carte restaurant offers a wide variety of meals.


Conferencing: The Conference Room offers everything you'll need in a relaxed atmosphere. Flipcharts, pens, TV and Video machine available. Custom-made packages can be arranged for your specific needs. The facility can comfortably hold up to 30 people cinema-style.

Reception & Quick Shop: Charcoal and ice is sold at reception. A quick shop with essential items and curios is situated close to the premises for your convenience.

Padi Dive Centre: They have a full range of expertly maintained ScubaPro gear. Cylinders, BCD, Regulators, Weight belts, Masks, Fins, Wetsuits and Dive computers are available for hire. For guests flying in this is just another convenient service Guinjata Resort has to offer. Guinjata Resort uses 2x8m rubber ducks for diving charters. There are also Bauer compressors and airbanks on site to fill cylinders.

PADI Courses: Guinjata Resort features a fully equiped and certified PADI instruction facility, complete with a training pool for scuba only. Guinjata Resort has full time Dive Masters and Instructors on site. The PADI scuba diving courses range from Resort courses, full Open Water Courses a well as Dive Master Courses. For qualified divers, we offer a range of world-famous reefs only a short boat ride away from the Resort.

To prevent you from lugging your dive gear back to your chalet after each dive, the Dive Centre is located on the beach, offering you secure storage for your gear. It features fresh water dunking bins to rinse your dive gear and fresh water showers and toilets for your convenience. A shade netting floor will help prevent all that sand getting into your gear and equipment. At Guinjata Dive Centre, we make the diving life easy !
